I have a LW switch controlling the main room lights. I also have some Hue bulbs in the room for “ambience”, they are not connected to the light circuit so are always powered on.
Is there a way of triggering them to turn on/off when the main lights are powered on/off? I have a smartthings hub, which would have been my first point of call, but apparently doesn’t work with LWRF. I am willing to purchase anything to get this to work.
I realised that if you have a 2 gang switch, that both gangs come alive if only the master is powered. Would it be possible to use a 1 gang for the main lights, and the other gang to trigger smart events?
There is IFTTT but apparently there is a big delay.
yes, IFTTT is the only thing i’m aware of to do this..
Can you trigger an IFTTT event with a switch that is powered, but with one gang not connected to any cables?
it should work fine – unused switches on mine show up in IFTTT for me..
