I asked at the Gadget Show, they said not (as they use a different RF system).

I would love a small IR-to-RF convertor box though, so people with standard learning remotes (like me!) could trigger LightwaveRF products using IR remote controls, even using a macro sequence on the remotes.

Should be simple enough to design, and then they could release the IR code list for the Logitech, One-4-All, etc databases… how about it?

    Hi

    Andre is correct,

LightwaveRF is at the moment deliberatly not designed to be compatible with other remote devices – we are trying to establish our own unique tech in the market first. It is possible you will see us open up to other systems in the not so distant future though so keep watching.

In terms of the IR to RF box this is very possible for us to do and it is something we have considered and may do in the future if we believe that the demand is there. We have concentrated on power/lighting/heating based on radio because we believe that there are other systems that now do audio and video (oftern largely ir) quite nicely already for a reasonably affordable price (from apple to harmony to sonos etc.) unlike in home automation. However we could bring an ir/rf box into the range reasonably quickly if demand was there – one for the future perhaps. <img src=” title=”Wink” />
