Has anyone played with a Homey yet?
The radios are ready for direct LWRF signalling, and this might just be THE product to integrate LWRF with other systems (Z Wave and Zigbee based stuff included) and control it all.
Anyway, very curious and interested to know if it’s more reliable than LWRF’s Link. Might be tempted to switch.
I look at this sometime ago when in Kick starters. My only concern was lots of complaints about the voice detection . In the end I went for Alexa and open source Domoticz on PI. I linked LIghtwaverf with Zware using a dongle see:-.
Kept an an eye on the forums , still issues with voice , but they are working on Google Home and Alexa support. Launched in the UK in April 2017
Yes, I saw some time ago that a Pi and RFXCom along with Domoticz is a great solution, so I bought a Pi, and then ran into many other projects that are vying for my time! Hopefully I can get round to this before the end of the year because my LWRF Link now seems to have dropped range and needs relocating. It’s really, annoying!
For my own requirements, Homey is probably an all encompassing product that goes way beyond. But since it would be very quick to jump in and play, you can see how it could be appealing.
I’ll keep an eye out. Thanks for your input.Chester
Have managed to integrate Domoticz without the FFXCom thought £90 a bit step see
Would be interested if you do go for a Homey what the integration and voice is like. The Amazon echo is pretty good and have had little trouble with voice and local integration with the Pi
Try homeplug if you need to move the link somewhere else
