I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask the question or if it has been asked before
I have a pretty old house with thick walls and my router is upstairs and I have a 10m cat 6 network cable down to my TV to get BBC iplayer. Do you think I could use this to plug the wifi link into it

You will need a CAT5e/CAT6 connection to each device you plug into your router of course. You can run up to 100m per connection. No problems with 10m!
